EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing):

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and other distressing life experiences, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, and panic disorders.

EMDR therapy does not require talking in detail about the distressing issue or completing homework between sessions. EMDR therapy, rather than focusing on changing the emotions, thoughts, or behaviors resulting from the distressing issue, allows the brain to resume its natural healing process.

EMDR therapy is designed to resolve unprocessed traumatic memories in the brain. For many clients, EMDR therapy can be completed in fewer sessions than other psychotherapies.

EMDR is a wonderful modality to support folks in healing from and reprocessing relational trauma and attachment wounding, helping one liberate and integrate their past. EMDR can support you in untangling from trauma and belief systems that no longer serve you.

Somatic and Attachment Focused (SAFE EMDR), incorporates body-centered psychotherapies and attachment theory. This allows you to gently build awareness, release excess energy or arousal from your system, and regain a feeling of safety within your body.

Therapy for birthing people

I was trained as a birthworker in 2018 at Kindred Space LA, and am deeply passionate about supporting birthing people adjust and cope with all things related to birth. I can support birthing people with:

  • Grief and loss related to birth

  • Gender-inclusive perinatal/post-partum mental health

  • Processing birth trauma

Perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs) describe a group of symptoms that can affect birthing people during the pregnancy and post-partum period. These symptoms can disrupt functioning and make it difficult to access pleasure, feel grounded, or feel joy. Feelings of anxiety and depression can arise pre-pregnancy, during a pregnancy, and post-pregnancy.

I believe the birthing process is a transformational time for both the birthing person, and their family. Birthing is a transformational, life changing experience that can involve joy, grief, and anxiety all at once. I hope to support birthing people in adjusting to what they are going through within the birthing process, and to support them in accessing their power, resiliency, and strength.

Therapy can take place:

• Via Telehealth: Videochat or telephone

FEeS:

$160-250 / 50 minute session

Extended sessions are also available.

I also offer packages of ten 50-minute psychotherapy sessions at a discounted rate.

I am happy to brainstorm strategies to fit your budget for psychotherapy (i.e. a fixed amount of sessions).

Please email to inquire about sliding scale options, packages or to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to ask any questions and see if we are a good fit.

At this time, no insurances are accepted, but a superbill can be provided for potential reimbursement from your insurance.

If finances are a barrier for you, please reach out to me to discuss possible options. Sliding scale spots are reserved for people who are facing financial distress.

Note: Those who pay my full fee make it possible for me to provide sliding scale services to others who have financial hardship or have difficulties accessing therapy. I reserve 40-50% of my slots for sliding-scale clients.

Why PACKAGES?

A 2001 study published in the Journal of Counseling Psychology found that patients in psychotherapy improved most dramatically between their seventh and tenth sessions. Commitment to psychotherapy is what helps support progress and achievement of goals.

Note: For EMDR, the recommended session time is between 60 and 90 minutes. Since it is an 8-phase process, the more time the better with this particular modality.
